कमलामोदमधुरैः कलहंसकुलाकुलैः।
क्रीडासरोभिः सहिता मणिसोपानमञ्जुलैः॥
कमल-आमोद-मधुरैः कलहंस-कुलाकुलैः क्रीडासरोभिः सहिताः मणि-सोपान-मञ्जुलैः
- कमल-आमोद-मधुरैः = by lotus-smell-sweets = by those fragrant with the smell of lotuses.
- कलहंस-कुलाकुलैः = by swans-inhabited = by those that are inhabited by beautiful swans
- क्रीडासरोभिः = by pleasure-ponds
- सहिताः = attached
- मणि-सोपान-मञ्जुलैः = by gem-steps-lakes = by lakes that had gem-set steps
The city had sporting-lakes, fragrant with the smell of lotuses. Those lakes had gem-set steps and were always inhabited by beautiful swans.
